It is one of the rituals of Islam, Muslims draw near to God by provide slaughter of cattle, and that of the first day of Eid al-Adha until the last days of el-tashreeq, and It is one of the legitimate rites and compound it, It is Sunnah confirmed by all the doctrines of Sunni Islamic jurisprudence Shafi'i, Hanbali, and Maliki, Except hanafi school they see that it is obligatory

It's what the Muslim slaughter of animals on Eid al-Adha

Its origin : 

According to the Islamic perspective in The Holy Quran, the origin of sacrifice that Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him ) saw in a dream vision that he slay his son Prophet Ismail (peace be upon him ) and Ismail agreed because the vision of the prophets, according to the Islamic perspective right and must be applied, When Abraham gave his son on his face for slaughter It is the knife to his throat did not cut anything, ( It is said that god make between the knife and the throat plate of brass, ( and God knows best ), then allah told ibrahim that you have ratified the vision and the slaughter replace with sheep ( Muslim scientists described the lamb as «ram white, eyes, horny )

This is the ram which was revealed to Abraham to slaughter began the slaughter of sacrificial animals on Eid al-Adha day for Muslims.
